Fishing

Fishing is considered among the most widespread types of fishing due to its ease, and the availability of main sources for catching fish, such as seas, rivers, and lakes, and the availability of fish of all kinds. It is known that everything that is caught from these sources is called fish, if it is like the fish we know, or crustaceans such as crabs, or Sweet water crayfish, all these species are called fish according to the custom of fishermen. As it is available almost everywhere, and fishing tools are not expensive, easy to use, and obtaining its bait is easy, so in this topic we will explain the most common type of bait used in catching all kinds of fish, which is dough.

Dough bait for fishing

Dough bait is used to catch most types of fish, but the method of preparing this dough and its ingredients differ depending on the place and type of fishing. There is also a dough used to collect fish in the place of fishing, and we will come in detail for each type of fishing, and for each place of fishing, and show the most commonly used ingredients among fishermen in preparing each. A type of dough.

How to make fish paste

Freshwater fishing paste (lake, river): The types of paste used for freshwater fishing can be divided into the following:

Dough for collecting fish for the fishing area: It is a dough that is prepared in large quantities, and is usually made up of soaked and ground chickpeas, and some types of fodder, as most fishermen use the fodder that is fed to chicken chicks, and then some special flavorings are added to the water that will be used with the dough. Such as strawberry flavor and other types, but here the mixing process must be taken into account in four stages, which are:

  • We pour a little water into the mixture, then stir it with our hands and stir it continuously, until we see that the water we added is well distributed among the mixture particles, and we will also notice that the mixture has begun to stick together a little.
  • We leave the mixture for ten minutes until the particles absorb the amount of water we put.
  • We add more water until the mixture becomes more cohesive, but the amount of water should not be large so that the mixture does not become like bread dough. Rather, we want it to disperse a little after falling into the water over time. Until it smells attractive.
  • We make balls the size of a tennis ball from this dough, then throw them into the waters of the fishing area where we will camp.

Hook dough: Hook dough is the well-cohesive dough placed on the hook of the hook. It is prepared in the following steps:

  • We mix corn flour, wheat flour, semolina, and fresh eggs with water to which some artificial flavorings have been added, especially for fishing. You can use canned tuna oil, sunflower seed oil, or garlic oil, until we obtain a well-cohesive dough.
  • We leave the dough in the refrigerator until the ingredients absorb the aromas and become more consistent.
  • Place it in a tightly sealed plastic bag or box so that the dough does not dry out during the fishing process.

Urgent dough: It is the dough that is in its simplest state, and which is used by hunters when they go out into the wild without any fishing bait. It is the dough made from bread, as it is easy to prepare and does not require more than five minutes, by soaking the bread in river or lake water, and kneading it. Until it becomes consistent, it can be used directly.

Fishing dough for salt water (seas): Fishing dough for salt water does not differ from fresh water except in some ingredients, as the dough is made of wheat flour, semolina, dried fish flour, and a few fresh eggs, and curry spices and sweet paprika are added to it. If we have some artificial flavorings for fishing, such as prawn or squid flavor, the taste will be better, and all the ingredients are well kneaded until they become well combined.
